Ukraine’s famous football club is facing serious financial problems.
Employees of Odessa’s “Chornomorets” have not received their salaries for over two months, Idman.biz reports.
Disappointing news about the club states: “The electricity at the base has been cut off due to debts. They are operating with a generator. Water supply is also about to be cut off. Salaries have not been paid. A three-month delay is expected soon.”
Despite this, Chornomorets continues preparations for the new season. In the 2024/25 season, the team finished last in the Ukrainian Premier League and was relegated to the First League.
The Odessa team achieved its greatest success during the Soviet era in 1974 under the leadership of Azerbaijani coach Ahmad Alaskarov, finishing third in the USSR championship.
