"Sabah" played its first match today in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
The Baku-based team faced Moldova’s "Petrocub" away from home, Idman.biz reports.
The team, coached by Valdas Dambrauskas, traveled to Chisinau in search of a victory. After losing to Slovenia's Celje in the Europa League, the Azerbaijani Cup holders bounced back in Europe’s third-tier club competition.
"Sabah" struggled to open the scoring for much of the game but finally found the breakthrough in the 82nd minute through captain Pavol Safranko. The Azerbaijani side scored another goal in the final minute and returns to Baku with a significant advantage.
