Today, Sabah played the return leg of the UEFA Europa League First Qualifying Round.

Having lost the first match 2-3, the Baku-based club needed a win to advance to the next stage. Sabah opened the scoring but later fell behind. However, thanks to an outstanding performance from Joy-Lance Mickels, they managed to turn the game in their favor. Mickels scored two goals in two minutes to put Sabah ahead. With the score ending 3-2 in regular time, the match went to extra time. Celje, playing better during that period, scored the decisive goal to advance to the next round.
Sabah will continue its European campaign in the UEFA Conference League.
