Pavol Safranko: “We still have 90 minutes, and we’ll fight until the end”

“The second half turned out differently. We conceded an unlucky goal in the final minute and lost the match.”

Sabah forward Pavol Safranko said this in an interview with Teleqraf, commenting on their 2–3 home defeat to Slovenia’s Celje in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round, Idman.biz reports.

The Slovak striker stated that losing focus at the end of the match led to the defeat:
“Your opinion is that we were physically weaker than the opponent in the final moments. I don’t think the loss was because of that. We just lost concentration in the final minutes and conceded an unfortunate goal. We still have 90 minutes left, and we’ll fight until the end.”

“I’m happy to have made history by scoring a brace. As for our chances of advancing in the return leg, only God knows,” the 30-year-old forward concluded.

Pavol Safranko scored in the 3rd minute and from the penalty spot in the 18th.
