Araz-Nakhchivan Official: “We will have security demands for the Greek club”

The management of Araz-Nakhchivan has initiated organizational discussions with representatives of Aris (Greece), their opponent in the UEFA Europa Conference League Second Qualifying Round.

Idman.biz reports that the club’s executive director, Eldeniz Yusubov, shared this information with Report.

He stated that the first conversations were introductory in nature: “Immediately after the draw, we contacted representatives of the opposing team. These were initial talks, mainly for introductions. Correspondence regarding requirements has begun. There isn’t much complexity in the organizational matters, but every minor detail will be coordinated between the parties. At this stage, we’re still clarifying information. We’ve had early discussions on stadium facilities, club infrastructure, the host city, visas, transport and logistics, and welcoming and sending off the team. One of the most critical aspects will be security. We will put forward our own requirements, and they may also present certain conditions.”

Yusubov noted that they are familiar with Aris: “We are facing a very serious and strong opponent. We already have some information about the team, and our coaching staff is analyzing the data. We know they’re making transfers and have a strong squad — evident from their league results. They mostly rely on Spanish players. If I’m not mistaken, they have around eight foreign players, including recruits from Brazil and other countries. Some of their players have been part of well-known clubs. But this is only preliminary information, and we will investigate further.”
He also emphasized that efforts are ongoing to strengthen the squad:

“Although it’s our first appearance in European competitions, many of our players are not inexperienced. Some have Europa League experience, and we’ve made new signings. Work is being done to reinforce the squad. I wouldn’t call it inexperience — in matches like these, preparation and player quality are what matter. One of our main strengths is that we’ve managed to retain 70-80% of last season’s squad. With the addition of new players, we aim to further strengthen the team.”

The UEFA Europa Conference League Second Qualifying Round matches will be played on July 24 and 31. Araz-Nakhchivan will host the first leg and travel for the return match.
