In Group E, UEFA Champions League finalists Inter Milan were held to a 1–1 draw by Monterrey of Mexico. Sergio Ramos opened the scoring in the 25th minute, but Inter responded through Lautaro Martínez in the 42nd.
Later today, European heavyweights Manchester City and Real Madrid join the tournament as the Group G and H stages get underway. City face Wydad Casablanca (Morocco) at 20:00, while Real take on Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal at 23:00 (all times in Baku time).
