Farid Gayibov: "Today's victory reflects the state's strong support for sports"

"Today’s victory is a result of the state’s continuous support for sports."

This statement was made by Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov in an interview with journalists, Idman.biz reports.

Commenting on the recently concluded Minifootball World Championship held in Baku, the Minister emphasized the high level of organization:

“For the first time, Azerbaijan hosted the Minifootball World Championship. We’ve already achieved notable success in this sport — we’ve been European champions and placed fourth at the last World Cup. This time, with the support of our fans on home soil, we became world champions.”
He highlighted the collective effort behind this achievement:

“Naturally, this victory is the result of hard work. I especially want to commend the federation for its efforts.”

Gayibov also underlined the growing role of Azerbaijan in international sports:

“Many large-scale sporting events are held in our country. Thanks to ongoing support, sports in Azerbaijan are developing rapidly, and we continue to celebrate new victories.”

“Once again, Azerbaijan has proven itself as a capable host for major international competitions. We now look ahead to the upcoming UFC event and the CIS Games. I’m confident we will rise to those challenges as well.”

As reported, Azerbaijan defeated Hungary 4–2 in the final match held at the National Gymnastics Arena to win the Minifootball World Championship.
