Former national team coach and football expert Arif Asadov believes that Qarabag holds an advantage over Sabah FC in terms of individual player skill ahead of the upcoming Azerbaijan Cup Final.
Speaking to Idman.biz, Asadov acknowledged that both sides have a realistic shot at winning:
“This final isn’t just important for Qarabag and Sabah. It also affects teams like Turan Tovuz and Zira, making the match even more intriguing. In cup finals, there are no clear favorites. Qarabag may have the edge due to the technical ability of their players, but Sabah is highly motivated, especially with European competition on the line. I see the chances as evenly split.”
Asadov also praised the choice of venue — Sumgayit’s Mehdi Huseynzade Stadium — highlighting its potential for an electric atmosphere:
“This match will stand out in terms of fan attendance. Supporters of Qarabag, Sabah, and the football-loving city of Sumgayit will come together to create a festive football atmosphere. We’re in for a great spectacle. May the stronger team win.”
Over 5,000 tickets have already been sold for the final clash between Qarabag and Sabah, which kicks off at 19:00 on May 31.
