Approximately 50 people were injured during Liverpool FC’s championship parade following a road accident that occurred amid the celebrations.
The incident happened when a vehicle drove into a crowd of fans celebrating the Reds’ title win, Idman.biz reports.
One person has been arrested in connection with the incident. Authorities have identified the suspect as a 53-year-old white British male.
Emergency services reported that 27 individuals were taken to hospital, including two with serious injuries—one of whom is a child. An additional 20 people received medical treatment at the scene. Among the injured are four children.
Police have confirmed that the incident is not being treated as a terrorist act.
