World Minifootball Federation has launched a pilot project at the World Cup in Baku.
As part of this project, body-worn cameras were installed on the referees of the Azerbaijan - Slovenia (4:0) match, Idman.biz reports.
This initiative is aimed at increasing transparency, supporting the development of referees and getting fans more involved in the game. The pilot program provides fans and spectators with a unique perspective, allowing them to watch the match through the eyes of the referee.
World Championship Director Nemanja Lyumovic said he was proud to support this innovative pilot initiative: "We believe this is a significant step forward in the development of our sport and this initiative will increase interest, create a deeper understanding and provide a more informative and educational experience for all stakeholders."
World Minifootball Federation President Philip Cuda added:
"The beautiful city of Baku is at the heart of another memorable event in the world. I am particularly proud that referees from the USA, Europe and Africa will be watching this game. This once again underlines the global unity and development of minifootball."
