The Mini-Football World Championship being held in Baku has officially kicked off.
The tournament, hosted in our country for the first time, began with the France vs. Chad match, Idman.biz reports.
In the opening match held at the National Gymnastics Arena, France secured a narrow 1–0 victory.
In the second match of the day, Turkiye faced Hungary. That game ended in a 1–1 draw. In Group D, Portugal beat Bulgaria 3–1.
There was also a winner in the Ukraine vs. England game, where the English side defeated their opponent 4–0. In the Slovakia vs. India match, a total of 15 goals were scored, with the European team achieving a crushing victory.
Today, six more matches will take place across four groups. The Azerbaijani national team will face Bahrain.
Before the match, the official opening ceremony of the championship will be held, featuring performances by renowned singers Aygun Kazımova and Aleyna Tilki.
The remaining eight first-round matches will take place tomorrow.
