- How do you assess the 2024/2025 season for the Shamakhi Regional Football School?
- Children are growing. Especially the lower age groups. There were almost no children in the older age groups. We recruited them with difficulty. We are suffering a little in this regard. The minors are good. They are growing, developing. I believe that there will be good results.
- You raised the lower age groups. Are there many talented players?
- They are really very good. We play in the Agsu zone. We win almost all matches. But our main goal, of course, is to raise children. We need to direct them correctly. If you look at the place, you will see that development is taking place.
- Many people think that Shamakhi is not a football region. How many years have you been there? Will this region be able to give famous faces to the national football?
- I am sure that in 4-5 years, footballers from Shamakhi will play in our national team. There are potential players here. I believe that they will reach higher levels. First of all, work must continue. Then we will see together what kind of footballers emerge.
- The result in the lower age groups is not so important. But the young people are inclined to win. Can any of your teams play for the championship in the coming years?
- It will be very difficult for us to play for the championship. Because some clubs play for the result. They have the opportunities. They have the conditions, they can feed them. They attract and retain children from other regions of Azerbaijan. Such a team can show the result. But we have children exclusively from Shamakhi. Even if they are weak, we play them. Our goal is a little different from other clubs. There are more children from other regions in our clubs. Children in all our age groups are from Shamakhi. We haven't trained the adults, we've just recruited them. They can't show results or play. But the minors are developing.
- Several young Azerbaijani players are also in the main team of Shamakhi, which plays in the Misli Premier League...
- Aykhan Abbasov has also been appointed head coach of our U-21 national team. Now they will attract more young players. This is a very good factor for the country's football. Of course, legionnaires will also be in the squad. Young players develop more when they play with foreigners. Currently, the Shamakhi team is the one that gives the most chances to young people. Shamakhi football will develop day by day. Aykhan will let the young players play more.
