The Georgian national team won the right to play in the final stage of the European Championship for the first time in its history.
Idman.biz reports that the representative of the neighboring country entered the history of the competition as the 36th country.
So far, 35 teams have competed in the final stages. There are indeed countries that played in the continental championship but do not exist now, and the number of their participation was written at the expense of their successors. After the reunification of the FRG, it was assigned to Germany, the USSR, and the CIS to Russia, Yugoslavia to Serbia, and Czechoslovakia to both the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
