Abdullayev will not run his candidacy at the Next Report-Election Conference of AFFA, which will be held on the same day. With this, his 16-year leadership of the institution will come to an end.
The current president of AFFA has been holding this post since March 14, 2008. He was elected to this position for the second time on March 9, 2012, for the third time on March 11, 2016, and for the fourth time on January 28, 2020.
It should be noted that Abdullayev is the 3rd president of AFFA. Until then, Fuad Musayev (1992-2003) and Ramiz Mirzayev (2003-07) headed the institution.
