Interview with Araz-Nakhchivan forward Ulvi Isgandarov to Sportal.az
– Araz-Nakhchivan’s training camp is ongoing. How are the sessions going, is there anything bothering you?
– Yes, the camp is going well. We’re training twice a day. Everything is in order; there’s nothing bothering us. We’re continuing preparations for the new season.
– The team won the first friendly match 14-0 against Bayburtspor and then drew 0-0 with Alanyaspor. Was the match against the Super Lig team more exciting?
– Of course, playing against a Super Lig team is better. Matches like these are a good test of our strength. We gave our best in both games.
– Araz-Nakhchivan was one of the most active clubs in the summer transfer window, and the squad has been strengthened. Is the current Araz-Nakhchivan stronger than last season’s team?
– Of course, we’ve made some good signings. The new players are already adapting to the team. Yes, we did a good job as a team last season, but we need to move on from that. We have to focus on the new season. I think the 2025/2026 season will be even better for Araz-Nakhchivan.
– In the new season, there will be no foreign player limit in the Premier League, and competition within your squad is high. How do you assess your chances of getting playing time?
– It wouldn’t be right for me to comment on the limit, as the decision has already been made. The presence of competition is a good thing. Whoever is better and in form will play.
– Your last opponent at the training camp will be Trabzonspor. Even if it’s a friendly, what do you think about the match? It will be your last game before facing Aris. Do you think this match will show how ready you are?
– Playing a friendly match against a team like Trabzonspor before the Aris game is definitely a good thing. I think we’ll be fully ready by the time we face Aris. Right now, all our focus is on training and the upcoming games.
– In the football community, Araz-Nakhchivan is considered the least likely among the European competition representatives to advance. Do you think you can get past Aris?
– As a team, we’re fully focused on the Aris match. We want to advance to the next stage. As for our chances, anything can happen in football. I’d say our chances are 50/50. We want to be fully prepared by then and overcome Aris. I hope everything goes well.
– Have you personally looked into Aris?
– Our coaching staff provides us with information about Aris. We’re also watching and analyzing their games ourselves.
