Frank Lampard’s club achieves a historic milestone in the Championship

In the Matchday 23 fixture of the Championship, Coventry City secured a narrow 1:0 home victory over Swansea City.

As reported by İdman.Biz, this result lifted the hosts to 51 points in the current league campaign, while the team’s goal tally reached 54 by the midpoint of the season.

According to statistics portal Opta, Frank Lampard’s side became just the second team in Championship history to surpass the 50-point and 50-goal marks by the season’s halfway stage. Previously, this achievement had only been recorded by Wolverhampton in the 2008/2009 season.

The 47-year-old Lampard took charge of Coventry City in November 2024. Since his appointment, the team has played 55 official matches, recording 31 wins, 10 draws, and 14 defeats. For his success in November, the coach was named Manager of the Month in England’s second-tier division.

Currently, the league leaders hold an eight-point advantage over their nearest rivals in the standings. Coventry City will play their next match on December 29, when they host Ipswich Town at home.
