Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has spoken about his decision to remain at the club despite having opportunities to leave, explaining the reasons behind his choice.
According to Idman.Biz, the Portuguese midfielder emphasized that he showed loyalty to the club during its most difficult periods.
“My loyalty was shown in the toughest moments I went through at the club. I had two opportunities to leave. The club told me they needed me, and I said that if you have given me something, then I will give something back. Even in the hardest times, I was on the pitch for Manchester United. I hope everyone at the club is aware of that, because the opportunities I had were really very good,” the captain said.
The experienced footballer also admitted that he could have chosen a different career path.
“I fully understand that I could have chosen another route. Maybe I would have won more titles and had trophies in my cabinet. In that case, people would probably talk about me differently,” Fernandes added.
Bruno Fernandes also made it clear that he would not have stayed without the club’s ambition.
“If the club had not told me that our goal is still to reach the highest level, I would not have stayed at Manchester United. The plan here is to win titles again and return to the status of the big club we once were,” he concluded.
