Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca reacted to comments by former England striker Wayne Rooney, who criticized the coach for excessive player rotation in the Champions League match against Qarabag (2:2), Idman.Biz reports.
"I have said many times that we live in an era where everyone can say what they want. I respect that, but I already mentioned after the Qarabag match that since I joined the club, I have believed in the need for player rotation, and no one has complained about the inability to win a match.
I think that when rotation involves Andre Santos, a Brazilian international, Jorrel Hato, a Dutch international, and Estevão, another Brazilian international, it’s not really about rotation. They are good, talented, and young. Of course, young players need the chance to make a few mistakes to become better," Maresca told Mirror.
