Shafa coach reflects on draw with Sabail

“We wanted to win the match against Sabail. It was a tough game, and any result was possible. The championship has just begun, and there will be many exciting matches ahead. Sabail is competing for the title, so we are happy to have secured a point and maintained our lead,” said Shafa head coach Elgiz Karamli in an interview with Sport24.az.

The young coach commented on his team’s 2-2 draw with Sabail in the 6th round of the First League:

“This season, club finances have improved. Since the foreign player limit in the Premier League was lifted, First League clubs now feature several players with top-level experience. As the number of quality players increases, the overall level of the league rises. In the next round, we face another title contender, Mingachevir, in what will be a tough away match. In general, there are no easy games in the league; each match has its own intensity. We approach every game with the goal of winning, in line with our plan to become champions.”

The match between Shafa and Sabail ended in a 2-2 draw.
