Rahil Mammadov, a player for the Azerbaijani national team and “Araz-Nakhchivan” club, will undergo surgery due to a serious injury.
Idman.Biz, citing the club’s press service, reports that the operation is currently being planned by mutual agreement between AFFA and the player. Mammadov is expected to be sidelined for at least three months.
It is noted that he was injured during training before the World Cup 2026 qualifying match against Ukraine. The match, held in Krakow, Poland, ended in a 2:1 victory for the Ukrainian team.
