“We should have at least earned a point against Sabail. We conceded a goal from a simple situation,” said Ilkin Qyrtymov, a player for Zagatala, in an interview with sport24.az.
The experienced defender commented on his team’s performance in the fifth round match against league leaders Sabail:
“We fought well against the current leader. I don’t want to talk much about the referees. No team should get preferential treatment based on their name or position in the standings. We are six points behind the leader, which isn’t a huge gap. The championship is a long marathon, and many games are still ahead. As I said, we will improve from round to round. We have enough strength and potential for that. We will go into every game to win.”
The match ended with Sabail securing a 1:0 victory over Zagatala.
