The latest conference of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation has been held.
The event took place at the Radisson Hotel and was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, Federation President and Vice President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Mahir Mammadov, and renowned chess players, Idman.biz reports.
The event began with the playing of the National Anthem and a tribute to the memory of martyrs who died for the homeland.
Several items were on the agenda. First, a report was presented on the federation’s recent activities.
This was followed by elections for the Azerbaijan Chess Federation President and members of the Executive Committee.
Mahir Mammadov, the current president and FIDE Vice President, was re-elected as president of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation. Faig Hasanov was elected First Vice President, while Bakhtiyar Mammadov and Yagub Huseynov were appointed as Vice Presidents.
The federation’s budget was also discussed during the meeting.
After the report was reviewed, new members were elected to the Executive Committee. Mahir Mammadov, Faig Hasanov, Sarkhan Hashimov, Aynur Sofiyeva, Elnur Aliyev, Bakhtiyar Mammadov, and Yagub Huseynov will serve on the committee.
