Before the final round, Azerbaijani chess players Murad Ibrahimli, Mahammad Muradlı, and Aydın Suleymanli, each with 5.5 points, were battling for a spot in the top three.
Khazar Babazada and Misratdin İskandarov, after drawing their last matches with the leaders, reached 6 points.
