FIDE has published the world ranking of chess players for October.

Idman.biz reports that Shakhriyar Mamedyarov has the best score among the Azerbaijani chess players.

Mamedyarov, who dropped one place, ranked 18th with 2733 points. Teimour Rajabov (2700) remained on the 31st place. Rauf Mammadov (2643), who advanced 10 places, took the 90th place. Aydın Suleymanli, who has 2637 points, rose to the 100th place.
Norwegian Magnus Carlsen topped the table with 2831 points.

Gunay Mammadzada scored the best in the women's table. She dropped one place and is 34th with 2426 points. Govhar Beydullayeva (2402) advanced 8 steps and ranked 45th, while Ulviyya Fataliyeva (2383) advanced one step and ranked 67th. Khanim Balajayeva (2362) dropped 21 places and became 83rd.

China's Hou Yifan leads the women's ranking table - 2633 points.
