Gabala have announced the appointment of Jeton Beqiri as their new head coach.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the regional club confirmed that the Red-Blacks have signed a 1+2-year contract with the North Macedonian specialist.
The 44-year-old most recently managed Shkendija in his homeland, leading the club to the North Macedonian championship title in the 2024/25 season.
During his coaching career, Beqiri has also worked as head coach of Drita, Gostivar, Renova and Struga in North Macedonia, as well as Albanian club Bylis. He also served as sporting director of Saudi Arabian side Al-Jabalain.
Beqiri will officially begin his duties at Gabala on September 20.
Gabala started the new season under Kakhaber Tskhadadze, but following a disappointing start to the Azerbaijan Premier League campaign, the club terminated its contract with the Georgian specialist by mutual consent on August 31.
The team collected just one point from their opening three league matches, suffering two defeats and recording one draw without scoring a single goal.
Following Tskhadadze's departure, the team continued preparations under the existing coaching staff. In Gabala's next official match against Imishli, which the Red-Blacks won 2-1, Manaf Kalantarli was listed as the team's coach in the official match protocol.
