This is what Azerbaijani 3x3 women’s basketball team member Dina Ulyanova told AZERTAC while speaking about winning the Bucharest stage of the World Series held in Romania’s capital, Idman.biz reports.
She said the success would motivate the team for upcoming tournaments: “The key to our victory was team unity and strong communication between players. We played every match with high energy, which was crucial for the win. I’m proud of my team. This result has been written into the history of Azerbaijani basketball in golden letters.”
The experienced player also expressed their aim to win more medals: “The World Series was great preparation for the European Cup. We have two tournaments ahead in Azerbaijan. Before that, we’ll compete for a medal at the European Cup in Copenhagen, Denmark. We want to represent our country with pride at that tournament as well.”
The Azerbaijani team defeated the U.S.-based Seattle club 21:18 in the Bucharest final. The tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) was Azerbaijan’s Brianna Fraser.
