The group stage draw and schedule have been announced for the 3x3 European Basketball Championship qualifiers, set to take place in Kosovo.
Both the men’s and women’s national teams of Azerbaijan now know their match dates, Idman.biz reports.
Men’s team
Group B
June 7, 11:45: Azerbaijan vs. Malta
June 8, 13:35: Kosovo vs. Azerbaijan
The men's team will face Malta and Kosovo in Group B, while Cyprus, Ireland, and Albania compete in Group A. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
Women’s team
Straight to the semifinals
The Azerbaijani women’s team is already through to the semifinals, as only two teams – Azerbaijan and Kosovo – are placed in Group B. Their match will simply decide who finishes top of the group:
June 7, 13:10: Azerbaijan vs. Kosovo
In Group A, Ireland, Cyprus, and Malta will battle for the other semifinal spots.
Only the winner of the qualification stage in each category will earn a spot in the main round of the European Cup.
