A historic scoring record has been set in the Azerbaijan Basketball League finals.
The decisive Game 5 of the 2024/25 season’s final series stood out with a remarkable achievement by Sabah, Idman.biz reports.
Coached by Rimas Kurtinaitis, Sabah became the first team to score over 100 points in a league final, defeating Neftchi 107–89. The match also saw a combined total of 196 points — a new record for Azerbaijan Basketball League finals.
The national championship has been known under its current name since the 2022/23 season. Sabah, who previously beat Ganja 3–2 and Khazri 3–1 in earlier finals, now leads the current series 3–2.
