"For the first time, we are participating in this level of tournament and it is very gratifying to win."
Konstantin Volkov, a member of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), the winner of the 3x3 basketball tournament held between state institutions, told Idman.biz.
The captain, who defeated the team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the finals of the men's basketball competition, said that the matches were intense: "I thank the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan for the invitation. I hope that we will be invited to this competition again in the future. The competitions were organized at a high level and we witnessed intense games. We succeeded in all the matches with a difference of 1 or 2 points, which shows the strength of the teams. In some moments, experience helped us a lot. The final with the Ministry of Emergency Situations was more difficult. Because already I felt tired, but we managed to win. Once again, I thank the organizers for everything."
Aygun Eynullayeva (Ministry of Science and Education), the winner of the competition among female basketball players, said that the final meeting with SOCAR was difficult: "I express my deep gratitude to the organizers of the tournament. The competitions were well organized during the two days. The team of the Ministry of Science and Education won the first place in women's match. I congratulate the team members. An interesting fight took place in the final game. Our girls played a great game and we won."
It should be noted that employees of 20 state institutions competed in the tournament organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
In the competition organized on a specially installed basketball court in the courtyard of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the first place among women was awarded to the Ministry of Science and Education, and the second and third places were awarded to the teams of SOCAR and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, respectively.
In the men's race, Azerbaijan Airlines was the first. The teams of the Ministry of Emergencies and the State Customs Committee were placed in the first "three".
