The head coach of "Qarabag" Gurban Gurbanov was presented with the most prestigious sports award "Jean Borotra World Fair Play Career" given for the principles of fair play.
The experienced specialist received the award at the presentation ceremony organized by the International Fair Play Committee (ClFP) in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, Idman.biz reports.
Gurbanov was the the first Azerbaijani to be awarded this award for his commitment to the principles of fair play during his career. The presentation of the head coach to the "Jean Borotra World Fair Play Career" and "Pierre de Coubertin World Trophy" awards of the ClFP was made by the Azerbaijan Sports Journalists Association. The committee took into account his commitment to the principles of fair play not once, but throughout his career, and awarded Gurbanov with the more prestigious "Jean Borotra World Fair Play Career" award.
It should be noted that Gurbanov canceled the goal scored by Ibrahima Wadji in the match between "Qarabag" and "Marseille" of the 2022 UEFA Conference League play-off stage.
