Sabah handed toughest Champions League draw, according to Football Meets Data

Interesting statistics have emerged regarding Sabah's opponents in the UEFA Champions League league phase.

As reported by İdman.Biz, renowned European football statistics platform Football Meets Data analysed the results of the Champions League league-phase draw and ranked the teams according to the difficulty of their opponents.

According to the calculations, Sabah have been handed the toughest draw of all the participating clubs. The Azerbaijani champions recorded a difficulty score of +42.

Manchester City are second with +39, followed by Lens (+33), Club Brugge (+26) and Como (+25).

At the opposite end of the ranking are Stuttgart, whose draw received a difficulty score of -48. They are followed by Inter (-36), Real Madrid (-28), Shakhtar Donetsk (-28) and LASK (-21).

Under the methodology used in the ranking, a higher positive score indicates stronger opposition, while a negative figure suggests a comparatively easier set of opponents.

Sabah have reached the Champions League league phase for the first time in the club's history and will face several of European football's biggest names.

The Baku club will host Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Slavia Prague in Azerbaijan. Away from home, Sabah will face Arsenal, Manchester United, Villarreal and Norwegian side Viking.

The Champions League league phase is scheduled to begin on September 8.
