Sabah's qualification for the UEFA Champions League league phase has helped Azerbaijan climb to 25th place in the UEFA association ranking.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Sabah defeated Israel's Hapoel Beer-Sheva 5-2 in the second leg of the Champions League play-off round to secure a 6-4 aggregate victory and a place in the league phase of Europe's premier club competition.
The historic victory added 1.750 points to Azerbaijan's UEFA coefficient.
As a result, Azerbaijan moved above Slovenia into 25th place in the UEFA association ranking, with the country's coefficient now standing at 23.687 points.
Sabah's achievement will also have a significant impact on the club's individual UEFA ranking. By qualifying for the Champions League league phase, the Azerbaijani champions have already secured a guaranteed bonus of 6.000 coefficient points.
Sabah had lost the first leg against Hapoel Beer-Sheva 2-1 away from home before producing a dramatic turnaround in the return fixture, winning 5-2 to advance 6-4 on aggregate.
