Infantino announces dates for 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has officially announced the dates for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

As reported by İdman.Biz, Infantino shared the announcement on his official Instagram account, confirming that the tournament will take place from September 17 to October 9, 2027.

"I am delighted to announce that the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2027 will take place from September 17 to October 9! Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are preparing to welcome and bring together the best young footballers in the world. I wish everyone the very best of luck. See you there!" the FIFA president wrote.

The tournament will mark another important milestone for Azerbaijan, further strengthening the country's position as a host of major international football competitions.

The announcement comes as Baku prepares to host the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival, which will run from October 24 to 30.

Azerbaijan's U-15 national team will begin its campaign against Timor-Leste on October 24 at 19:30 local time at Baku Crystal Hall.

Hosting both FIFA youth tournaments highlights Azerbaijan's growing involvement in international football development and provides opportunities to promote the sport among younger generations.
