Khankendi - Baku ultra-marathon: The first stage is over - PHOTO - VIDEO - UPDATED

The first stage of the Khankendi-Baku ultra-marathon, jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Baku City Circuit, and the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation, was completed.

As the reporter of Idman.biz informs, the athletes finished the first day in Yevlakh.

Elmir Askerov was the winner of the first stage of the marathon organized under the slogan "Run Forward Proudly". He completed the distance of 83 km in 6 hours and 52 minutes. While Agha Aliyev took the second place, Elman Abishov reached the finish line in third place.

In the race, which will last until March 4, the participants will reach the finish line in Baku after covering 380 km. Athletes will reach the capital in the following days by crossing Yevlakh - Ujar (84 km), Ujar - Hajigabul (88 km), Hajigabul - Gobustan (70 km) and Gobustan - Baku (55 km) stages.

The winners of each stage will be awarded separately. The overall winners of the ultra-marathon will be awarded the grand prize.

It should be noted that a total of 64 athletes compete in the ultra-marathon. Among them are participants from Turkiye, Mexico, and Moldova.
