Azerbaijani archers win three medals in Belarus

Members of Azerbaijan's national archery team Fatima Huseynli and Yaylagul Ramazanova have won three medals at the Belarusian Championships in Mogilev.

İdman.Biz reports, citing the Azerbaijan Archery Federation, that the tournament, which began on September 8, brought together 120 athletes.

The Azerbaijani team competed under the guidance of head coach Natig Fazilov and technical director Vladimir Lekveishvili.

In the women's individual 70-metre event, Huseynli scored 632 points in qualification before overcoming all her opponents to claim the gold medal.

Ramazanova also produced a strong performance in the same event, finishing second to secure silver.

Huseynli added another medal in the mixed team competition. Partnering Belarusian archer Kirill Firsov, the Azerbaijani athlete claimed bronze to complete her campaign with two medals.

The winners will receive their awards today following the conclusion of the decisive matches.

The Azerbaijani archers had also taken part in an international training camp in Mogilev from August 29 to September 7 as part of their preparations for the competition.
