Former Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has described Cristiano Ronaldo's return to the team as a mistake.
According to Idman.biz, the Norwegian coach reflected on the decision made in 2021, calling it the wrong choice. Solskjaer noted that his assistant, Kieran McKenna, reacted differently at the time: "It might have been a wrong choice for all of us. We thought it was the right step then. When I mentioned it to my assistant, Kieran’s first response was, 'How are we going to defend?'"
Ronaldo rejoined Manchester United from Juventus in the summer of 2021. He stayed with the team until November 2022, making 54 appearances and scoring 27 goals.
