Young Argentine forward Ezequiel Garfagnoli, who plays for Rosario Central, has attracted the attention of the Italian media following his impressive performances at the U15 World Cup currently taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing Tuttomercatoweb, the 15-year-old striker has been featured in the Italian football portal's "Talent of the Day" section.
Born on January 1, 2011, Garfagnoli emerged as Argentina's leading goalscorer during the group stage of the tournament, finding the net five times.
The youngster scored the only goal in Argentina's 1-0 victory over Chinese Taipei before producing a hat-trick in a convincing 5-1 win against Oman. He also got on the scoresheet in his team's 4-2 triumph over Malawi.
The Italian publication described Garfagnoli as a clinical penalty-box striker with excellent movement off the ball and a natural instinct for goalscoring opportunities.
His playing style was compared to that of Italy international Mateo Retegui, highlighting his ability to find space inside the opposition's penalty area and capitalise on scoring chances.
Despite Garfagnoli's impressive individual performances, Argentina were unable to secure first place in their group.
The South American side won four of their five group-stage matches but suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Algeria, which ultimately left them in second place.
As a result, Argentina missed out on the main competition for the world title and will continue their campaign in the tournament's Level B.
Nevertheless, Garfagnoli's performances in Azerbaijan have already earned him international recognition, with the Italian media identifying the Rosario Central prospect as a promising young attacking talent.
