Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic medals unveiled in Venice

Organisers of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics have officially unveiled the medals for next year’s Games at a special ceremony held in Venice. The design showcases the iconic five Olympic rings on one side, while the reverse includes inscriptions detailing the event and the host venue, paying tribute to the occasion and its setting.

Idman.biz, citing Reuters, reports that a similar design approach has been applied to the Paralympic medals, which incorporate the Paralympic symbol in place of the Olympic rings. This consistent format reflects unity across both events, while honoring their unique identities.

The launch event featured two of Italy’s most celebrated athletes: Olympic gold medalist swimmer Federica Pellegrini and multi-Paralympic champion Francesca Porcellato, who has earned gold at both the Summer and Winter Games. Their presence highlighted Italy’s proud sporting history and the anticipation surrounding the 2026 Winter Olympics.
