The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) and the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan have signed a partnership agreement aimed at developing the country’s winter tourism potential and bringing prestigious international winter sports competitions to Azerbaijan.
The agreement outlines cooperation on expanding and improving existing winter tourism infrastructure, positioning Azerbaijan as an attractive destination for international tourists, and organizing global ski events at the Shahdag Tourism Center, Idman.biz reports.
One of the main goals of the partnership is to promote Azerbaijan as a destination for world-class professional winter sports competitions, as well as to launch large-scale international marketing campaigns to raise awareness of Azerbaijan’s tourism brand and products.
Under the agreement, Azerbaijan will serve as a “Global Destination Partner” at FIS-organized global competitions, including World Cups and World Championships.
Notably, starting from the next winter season, world-class FIS competitions are planned to be hosted at the Shahdag Tourism Center.
