Azerbaijani figure skaters Samantha Ritter and Daniel Brickalov competed in the rhythm dance at the European Figure Skating Championships being held in Sheffield, United Kingdom.
According to İdman.Biz, the duo finished 26th with a score of 51.29 points. They earned 27.68 points for technical elements and 23.61 points for program components, with no deductions. Ritter and Brickalov failed to make the top 20 pairs who qualified for the free dance and thus ended their campaign at the continental championships.
The leaders after the rhythm dance were Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron of France. Second place went to Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson of Great Britain, while Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri of Italy were third.
Earlier at the European Championships, Azerbaijani skater Nargiz Suleymanova competed in the women’s singles event. She finished 30th in the short program and did not qualify for the final segment. Suleymanova became the first Azerbaijani woman to compete at the European Figure Skating Championships.
