Azerbaijan will host an international alpine skiing tournament for the first time.
Idman.Biz reports that this was confirmed by Orkhan Badalov, press secretary of the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation. According to him, the competition will be organized jointly by the federation and the Shahdag Tourism Center. Although athlete registration will close tomorrow, it is already known that more than 20 competitors will take part in the event.
Skiers from Switzerland, Hungary, Slovenia, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan and Hong Kong are expected to compete. Azerbaijan will be represented at the tournament by Anastasia Papatoma.
The Azerbaijan Open international alpine skiing tournament will take place from January 8 to 11.
