“Yesterday, a dream came true,” Nargiz Suleymanova wrote on her personal Instagram account, after securing a spot at the European Figure Skating Championship, Idman.Biz reports.
“It was a great honor to raise the Azerbaijani flag. I deeply thank my federation for trusting me and giving me this opportunity,” she added.
Suleymanova won gold at the Bosphorus Cup held in Istanbul from November 27–30, scoring 156.53 points in the short and free programs, finishing ahead of 26 competitors and earning qualification for the European Championship. In the same competition, Arina Kalugina placed fifth with 154.85 points, and Sabina Aliyeva finished sixth with 137.22 points.
