Azerbaijan’s men’s national volleyball team currently holds fifth place in the overall standings of the European Silver League.
The Baku stage of the tournament proved unfruitful for the home side, as the team failed to secure any points, Idman.biz reports.
Playing on home soil, Azerbaijan suffered defeats against Luxembourg (0–3) and Hungary (1–3).
Under head coach Farid Jalalov, the team earned 3 points thanks to a win over Georgia during the Umeå stage in Sweden. The squad is now set to travel to the Faroe Islands, where they will face the hosts on June 20, followed by a match against Austria the next day.
Sweden currently tops the standings with 12 points and a four-match winning streak.
