Today, Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation (AVF) held a Volleyball Festival dedicated to June 1 - International Children's Day.
The festival, which was attended by teams of volleyball players under 12 years old, was organized not only in Baku, but also in the regions (Ganja, Nakhchivan, Hajigabul, Tovuz, Sumgait, Oguz, Gabala, Sheki, Zagatala), Idman.biz reports.
A total of 94 teams, including 12 teams in Baku, participated in the festival.
The event in the capital took place in the Seaside National Park.
AVF President Shahin Bagirov opened the event with an introductory speech and greeted the participants and guests. He said that the purpose of the festival is to increase children's interest in sports, promote a healthy lifestyle, and encourage values such as friendship and team spirit. The head of the organization expressed confidence that the festival will contribute to the development of children involved in volleyball as professional volleyball players, as well as to attracting children to this sport.
Later, the festival was declared open. Symbolic competitions and various games were organized among children on volleyball courts set up in the area.
At the end, certificates were awarded to the children who participated in the festival, and letters of appreciation were given to their parents.
