In an interview with Idman.biz, Sergey Chesnovickij, the head coach of the women's volleyball team Ganja, discussed his team's recent performance and future goals.
Reflecting on their defeat in the final of the Azerbaijan Cup held under the theme "Solidarity Year for Green World," Chesnovickij admitted that Absheron played better, winning 3-0.
He stated, "We were unable to showcase our game. The loss will help us identify our mistakes. I highly value the potential of our team, and we have strong and professional players."
Chesnovickij described reaching the cup final as a successful start to the season. He emphasized that the team's focus has now shifted to the national championship.
"Our primary goal is to reach the playoff stage. After that, we aim to compete for top positions with visually appealing performances. I don't foresee major changes to the squad, but we are still searching for new players for specific positions. To achieve our goal, I believe the addition of two players would strengthen the team."
He concluded by highlighting that Ganja will be one of the top competitors in the national championship this season.
