Tsitsipas splits with coach Goran Ivanisevic after short-lived partnership

Stefanos Tsitsipas has ended his coaching partnership with Goran Ivanisevic after just a few months, marking the conclusion of what the Greek player called a “brief but intense” collaboration. The two began working together in May following Tsitsipas’ struggles in recent Grand Slam tournaments.

Idman.biz, citing BBC, reports that the split comes after a disappointing grass-court season, including a first-round Wimbledon exit where Tsitsipas retired injured while trailing qualifier Valentin Royer. Ivanisevic, a former Wimbledon champion and longtime coach of Novak Djokovic, did not hold back in his criticism, calling Tsitsipas “the most unprepared player” he had ever seen.

Despite the harsh words, Tsitsipas expressed gratitude on Instagram, thanking Ivanisevic for his time and energy, and stating he has “only respect” for the Croatian legend. Currently ranked 29th, Tsitsipas has not advanced past the second round of a Grand Slam since the 2023 French Open.
