Today, the table tennis competitions of the 3rd CIS Games kicked off at the Gabala Olympic Sports Complex.
On the first day, the finalists in the men’s and women’s team categories were determined. Following the semifinal matches, the national teams of Azerbaijan and Russia advanced to the finals in both categories.
Men’s team event:
Uzbekistan vs. Azerbaijan — 0:2
Kazakhstan vs. Russia — 0:2
Women’s team event:
Uzbekistan vs. Russia — 1:2
Belarus vs. Azerbaijan — 1:2
The final matches will take place on September 27, starting at 10:00 AM.

Azerbaijan’s men’s table tennis team has advanced to the final at the 3rd CIS Games held in Gabala.
According to Idman.biz, the national team faced Uzbekistan in the semifinals and secured a 2-0 victory.
The Azerbaijani team will compete against Russia in the final tomorrow, aiming to claim the gold medal.

The table tennis tournament at the 3rd CIS Games began today at the Gabala Olympic Sports Complex.
According to Idman.biz, on the opening day, Azerbaijan’s women’s team defeated Uzbekistan 2:1 in the semifinals.
The team will face Russia in the final. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan’s men’s team will play against Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals today. The winner of this matchup will advance to the semifinals to face Kazakhstan.
The winners of the semifinals will compete in the final the following day, while the losing teams will be awarded the bronze medals of the 3rd CIS Games.

The first competitions of the III CIS Games have begun today in Azerbaijan.
Idman.biz reports that the tournament program was opened with table tennis matches held at the Gabala Olympic Sports Complex.
A total of 1,624 athletes and 2,337 delegates from 13 countries are participating in the Games. Azerbaijan is represented by 340 athletes, followed by Russia with 262, Uzbekistan with 254, Belarus with 240, Kazakhstan with 147, Tajikistan with 144, Kyrgyzstan with 126, Turkmenistan with 48, Turkiye with 38, Cuba with 11, Kuwait with 6, and both Pakistan and Oman with 4 athletes each.
Competitions will be staged across 12 venues in 23 sports, including archery, badminton, 3x3 basketball, boxing, canoeing, chovgan, fencing, U-16 football, wrestling (Greco-Roman, freestyle, and women’s), judo, karate, rhythmic gymnastics, rowing, sambo, shooting (rifle and clay target), swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, trampoline, and volleyball.
The III CIS Games will be hosted across seven Azerbaijani cities: Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Sheki, Goygol, and Khankendi. The opening ceremony will take place on September 28, while the closing ceremony is scheduled for October 8 at Ganja City Stadium.
