Azerbaijani swimmer Nusrat Allahverdi has become a world champion.
Idman.biz, citing AZERTAC, reports that the 18-year-old athlete won a gold medal for the Turkish national team at the youth world championships held in Romania.
He finished first in the 50-meter breaststroke event with a time of 26.98 seconds, climbing to the top of the podium.
Nusrat Allahverdi also claimed first place in the same event at the European Championships held in Lithuania last year.
