“Jamahal Hill plans to return to the championship race and will aim for a spectacular victory in his fight against Khalil Rountree.”
This was written on the official UFC website ahead of the tournament to be held in Baku on June 21, Idman.biz reports.
The main event of the tournament will feature a clash between Americans Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree.
Hill has 12 wins and 3 losses to his name: “Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill is planning to return to the octagon as soon as possible for his second fight of 2025. The American is the first participant of the 'Dana White’s Contender Series' to become a UFC champion. On his path to the title, Hill defeated Thiago Santos, Johnny Walker, and Jimmy Crute.”
For his part, Rountree (14 wins, 6 losses) will step into the octagon for the first time since his spectacular title fight against Alex Pereira at UFC 307 last October: “Khalil is a fighter known for his powerful strikes, having claimed 9 of his wins by knockout. He holds impressive victories over Carlos Dhakha, Karl Roberson, and Modestas Bukauskas. His next big success could lead him to take Hill’s place in the top five and revive his own title hopes.”
