McGregor prepares for octagon return after surgery

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor has announced that his knee surgery was successful and said he has begun preparing for a return to the Octagon.

İdman.Biz reports that McGregor shared a video on social media in which he spoke about his recovery.

“The surgery is done. My knee is repaired. Let the doubters keep talking. I didn’t run from the pain, I ran towards it. Now the real work begins. The comeback season starts now. No shortcuts. No excuses. Just the will to get back on my feet,” McGregor said.

The Irish fighter suffered the knee injury during his bout with Max Holloway at UFC 329 in July. The fight marked his first appearance in the Octagon after a five-year absence.

Early in the bout, McGregor attempted a flying kick but landed awkwardly. He fell twice more before grabbing his knee, prompting the referee to stop the fight after just 69 seconds. Holloway was awarded the victory by technical knockout.
